i-ACTIVESENSE is the blanket term used by the manufacturer to cover their advanced safety technologies developed in line with Mazda Proactive Safety. First appearing with the model year 2015, their milliwave radars, lasers, and cameras are mounted behind the badges in the grille, in the windshield, and behind the rear bumper cover.
The sophisticated i-ACTIVESENSE system is one of the most advanced in use today. It uses the sensors for pre-braking and active braking, lane departure warnings and blind-spot detection. Most Mazdas require a static calibration procedure with targets mounted at precise distances, and some may require three sets of targets. We then utilize a scan tool to initiate the calibration of the multiple sensors.
